Julia E Flaherty, or JEF, is an artist born and raised in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and is currently living and working in Chicago, Illinois. She creates both abstract and representational oil paintings, as well as ceramic sculptures. Her work embraces themes of solitude, quietness, atmosphere, and intimacy. She received her BFA in Studio from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2024.
